Hudson Valley Women Artists & Artisans in Their Own Voice
A MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATION
Join us to honor and celebrate the talented women of our region. The films showcase a wide variety of styles, disciplines, and mediums, including painting, photography, glass work, metalsmithing, installations, children’s book illustration, and silkscreening.
Blauweiss has produced over 75 of these artist profiles; 20 have aired on PBS, many have screened at museums and galleries around the country, and some were funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The filmmaker's ongoing mission is to document the vibrant arts, culture and history of the Hudson Valley region with a particular emphasis on the lesser-known and under-documented people and subjects.
The event is appropriate for all ages and genders and will include a brief introduction to each film as well as Q&A at the end.
